Yeovilton Air Day to pay tribute to the Falklands War

This year's Yeovilton Air Day will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War.

The Somerset base played a vital role in the conflict, sending more than 100 jets and helicopters.

A tree-lined avenue there provides a memorial to the 12 members who were killed in the conflict.

The air day takes place on 23 June - earlier than normal - as many of the aircraft will be used to provide security over southern England for the Olympic Games.
