Cambridgeshire Police apologise over retained body parts

Cambridgeshire Police have apologised after it emerged the force has been retaining body parts from murder investigations and suspicious death enquiries.

It was one of a number of forces that failed to tell relatives they were keeping the human tissue. A high number of brains is among the body parts.

The remains were held for up to 25 years before they were discovered during an audit, the force confirmed.
