Cambridge Tivoli pub fire: Blaze causes roof collapse

A major fire has left a riverside pub in Cambridge structurally unsafe after flames ripped through the premises for more than 10 hours.

Crews were called to the blaze at the Wetherspoon's Tivoli pub, on Chesterton Road, at about 03:00 GMT.

Firefighters continued to tackle the blaze until well after midday, hampered by a partial collapse inside the premises.

The fire is thought to have started in a kitchen, a Wetherspoons spokesman told the BBC. Nobody was inside the pub at the time.
