Dashcam captures drink-drive crash in Mepal

Dashcam footage from a lorry captured the moment a drink-driver caused a fatal five-vehicle crash.

Stephen James, 47, from Parkside in Haverhill, was jailed for six years after admitting responsibility for the crash on the A142 in Mepal, Cambridgeshire, in December.

He was on his way to work when he overtook an articulated lorry, collided with a traffic island, crashed into a car and caused the lorry to hit a third car.

James was two-and-a-half times over the drink drive limit at the time of the crash.
