Coventry hit by heavy burst of large hailstones

Coventry and Warwickshire have suffered bouts of heavy rain with reports of golf ball-sized hailstones falling.

Flood warnings were issued along parts of the River Tame as the area witnessed unseasonal weather.

A number of bungalows in Willow Close, Chapel End, were affected and raw sewage flooded into the road.

West Midlands Fire Service attended the Tesco store at Arena Park in the city where rainwater seeped in through the roof, forcing the store to be evacuated.
