Carlisle residents protest over flat demolition

People in Cumbria opposed to the government's under-occupancy charge have been protesting after 16 one-bedroom flats were demolished.

Residents from the flats in Carlisle said they cannot afford to live in the new larger housing as they would have to pay for the extra bedroom.

However, Riverside Housing Association which owned the flats, said they had received feedback and two-bedroom housing was what the city "needed".
