Pain of police custody death 'has diminished' Thomas Orchard's family
The family of a man with mental health issues who died in police custody wants to see a change in the way vulnerable people are treated.
Sgt Jan Kingshott, 45, and detention officers Simon Tansley, 39, and Michael Marsden, 56, were cleared of the manslaughter of Thomas Orchard at Bristol Crown Court.
Mr Orchard, 32, who had schizophrenia, died in hospital a week after he suffered a cardiac arrest in an Exeter police cell in 2012.
His mother Alison Orchard said the family's "fight for truth and transparency continues".
