Bid to boost eel population in the West Country

Conservationists in the West Country have introduced a new way to help baby eels, or elvers, navigate rivers.

Chris Baynger, from the Environment Agency, said special systems had been installed in waterways in Somerset and Gloucestershire to help elvers negotiate obstacles like weirs.
