World's biggest Union flag is repainted on the doors at Venture Quays

A set of hangar doors on the Isle of Wight which are said to be adorned with the biggest permanent image of the union jack in the world are being repainted in time for the Queen's visit in July.

The doors at Venture Quays on the Isle of Wight are 12m (39ft) tall and 46m (151ft) wide.

They were first painted in 1977 the Queen's Silver Jubilee.

About 700 litres (153 gallons) of paint will be used to cover the 550 square metres (5920 square feet) of door.
