Disabled son from Petersfield 'needs more help'

A Hampshire woman has criticised her local health service for not looking after her brain-damaged son after police had to restrain him four times in six months.

Pam Trenchard, from Petersfield, said her son Ian, 48, had sudden psychotic attacks and needed help at a specialist unit.

Hampshire Primary Care Trust would not comment on the case, but a spokesman said: "We work with patients and their families to ensure that the care packages in place allow them to maintain as much independence as possible whilst providing safe and effective care."
