Jasper In The Company Of Others at the Brewery Tap
I'm still not too sure about the name of this outfit - but what's sure is that the Shane Husband-fronted Jasper In The Company Of Others is one of the most-improved acts I've seen over the last twelve months. Shane (AKA Jasper) has recruited a quality rhythm section in Jim Arnold and Will Hughes to back up his vocal and guitar work with the additional frissance and distinctive tones of Jack on ukulele to differentiate this outfit from anything else doing the the rounds.
I caught this four-piece at the new and flourishing regular promotion at the eclectic Brewery Tap in Worcester's Lowesmoor - and I wasn't the only one. There was a packed house of knowledgables who've also realised that Jasper really is very much flavout of the month with great numbers like They Say It's Greener.
There's a good reason for this - Jasper In The Company Of Others have to be one of the hardest-working outfits going. It helps that Shane divides his time pretty equally between his home in the Derby/Nottingham area and his roots in Worcester, and also gigs just about anywhere and everywhere in between. This is an outfit that is doing everything right in terms of standing up and shouting at people to look out for them - a great act with great tunes - and a no-nonsense approach to getting themselves noticed - the more places you play the better.
