Chatham Grammar School for Boys in special measures

Chatham Grammar School for Boys in Kent has been placed in special measures after an Ofsted report judged it as failing.

Inspectors found it was not giving its pupils an acceptable standard of education, with management and leadership condemned as inadequate.

Councillor Vince Maple, of Medway Council, said "parents, pupils and professionals" would all be very worried to see the report.

Interim principal Stuart Gardner said it was essential to understand the strengths of the school and the areas that need to be improved.
