Blackpool Tower: Behind the scenes

One of Lancashire's famous landmarks is celebrating its 120th anniversary.

The Grade-I listed Blackpool Tower was officially opened to the public on 14 May 1894 after the Mayor of Blackpool, Sir John Bickerstaffe saw the Eiffel Tower and decided Lancashire should also have one.

About 300 people work there, from the man who plays the organ in the ballroom, to those that paint the outside.
