Man behind Leeds child heart surgery axe quizzed

The chairman of the review that decided children's heart surgery should not be performed in Leeds is being questioned by a regional health watchdog.

Sir Neil McKay's official review said units in Leeds, Leicester and London should stop surgery.

The public meeting of the Joint Health Overview and Scrunity Committee is being held at the Civic Hall in Leeds.

Patient representatives, doctors, councillors and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust officials are also speaking.
