Leicestershire amnesty weapons turned into manhole grates

Weapons collected by Leicestershire Police during an amnesty have been melted down and turned into grates for manhole covers.

More than 150 firearms were handed in, including antique rifles and fake Uzi machine guns.

The force said it was a "fantastic result" and a major step in making sure guns were kept out of the hands of criminals.
