Footage captures Leicester fans clashing with Madrid police

Footage has emerged of Spanish police clashing with Leicester City fans ahead of the club's Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid.

Scenes captured by BBC journalist Phil Mackie showed police in riot gear approaching supporters in the Plaza Mayor on Tuesday evening.

He said he also saw some fans who were just "walking and chatting" being hit with batons.

Spanish media reported that riot gear was used to disperse about 300 fans, eight of whom were understood to have been arrested.
