Prescribing ban on charity doctor hits cancer patient

A father-of-two from Norfolk who has terminal cancer says his chances of staying alive are being greatly reduced because his doctor is no longer allowed to prescribe his medication.

Dr Henry Mannings is being investigated by the General Medical Council for allegedly giving unauthorised chemotherapy.

In May, Gary Bowden was given two days to live by hospital doctors. He says he is alive because of Dr Mannings' treatment through his charity Star Throwers.

The GMC and the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service refused to comment.
