The house that moved 100 miles to the Norfolk coast

Most people move to a new home but May Savidge decided to take her house with her.

It was built in Ware, Hertfordshire, in about 1450, but she decided to relocate and transported it brick by brick to Wells-next-the-Sea, in, Norfolk, when the council wanted to knock it down in the 1960s.

When she died in 1993, she left the house to her niece, Christine Adams.

The house was not completed at the time, but Ms Adams spent 15 years putting it back together and is still finding work to do to finish her aunt's project.
