Moves to curb Northampton's 'chuggers'

A crackdown has begun on street charity collectors in Northampton where the council believes too many are operating.

The authority is introducing a voluntary code of conduct to control the number of "chuggers" but says that if the situation does not improve it will consider introducing a new by-law to curb the collectors.
