Olympic Torch Relay: Shot police officer Rachael Bown on Tuxford leg

Among the torchbearers carrying the Olympic flame on day 41 of the relay was retired Nottinghamshire police officer Rachael Bown, who carried it through Tuxford.

Rachael was shot in the stomach in 2006 while she was investigating a burglary.

She retired from the force in 2010 on health grounds and took up running as a way of relaxing.

She was nominated for the relay by her family, who she described as "the best in the world".
