Schmallenberg virus: 'Most dairy herds' exposed in the East Midlands

A virus which can cause deformities in lambs and calves could affect every farm in the East Midlands, according to experts from the University of Nottingham.

Last year fewer than 60 farms in the region reported cases of Schmallenberg, but milk tests carried out have shown the extent of the region's herds' exposure to the virus.
