Hampshire schoolgirl Libby Pardoe swims lengths for regiment

A schoolgirl from Hampshire who is swimming lengths of a pool to raise money for a regimental benevolent fund has been visited by some of the soldiers benefiting from her effort.

Libby Pardoe, 15, from Lymington is swimming a mile for every day the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment is in Afghanistan.

The injured servicemen who came to see her presented her with a plaque to show their appreciation.

She has now swum more than 16,000 lengths of the pool and has vowed to keep going until the regiment returns.
