Villagers critical of sewage floods

Residents living in Hambledon and Playhatch by the River Thames in Oxfordshire have criticised Thames Water after flooded sewers overflowed into their homes and gardens.

Thames Water said so far this winter it had spent £4.5m hiring tankers to pump out flooded sewage systems across its patch.

Water regulator OFWAT told BBC Oxford it would take action if investigations reveal Thames Water has failed to properly maintain its sewers.
