Transformers director responds to Blenheim Palace 'Nazi HQ' criticism

Director Michael Bay has defended turning Winston Churchill's birthplace into a "Nazi HQ" for the next Transformers film.

He told BBC Oxford that the wartime prime minister is a "hero" in the upcoming fifth entry in the series.

But the Sun newspaper reported "fury" from veterans after huge Nazi flags were draped across Blenheim Palace earlier this week.

Mr Bay said: "When you see the movie you'll understand... I would do nothing to disrespect veterans."
