Oxford United chairman sends message to terminally-ill fan

Oxford United chairman Darryl Eales has sent a message to terminally-ill Oxford United fan Steve Dyer.

Oxford-born Mr Dyer went into a hospice on Friday, prompting other fans to leave comments paying tribute to him on BBC Oxford's Facebook page.

Mr Eales also recorded a video dedicating the team's 2-1 win over Peterborough to the 59-year-old.

Mr Dyer was given four months to live when he was diagnosed with bladder cancer in November 2015.

He travelled from his home in the US to watch the U's play at Wembley in April and was left surprised when the manager invited him to meet the team.
