'Hit-and-run' victim 'crawled to kerb'

The mother of a 14-year-old boy who was knocked off his bike by a driver who failed to stop has appealed for the motorist to go to the police.

Mitchell Ogston suffered a broken leg in the incident outside his home on Brompton Road, Weston-super-Mare, at approximately 19:25 GMT on Tuesday.

Melanie Ogston said even if the driver was frightened to come forward he or she should "just do so" because "he's got a five or six months to recover and it will affect him afterwards as well".

She added Mitchell is undergoing a second day of surgery, including a skin graft to his leg,
