Sheffield terror raid witness heard 'almighty explosion'

A man has described becoming inadvertently involved in an anti-terror police raid as he opened his flat door in Sheffield.

Two men, aged 24 and 29, were arrested in the city and in Huddersfield on suspicion of terror offences.

Nick Meeks, who lives in Kelham Island in Sheffield, told the BBC he heard an "almighty explosion" and stuck his head into the corridor to investigate.

"There were fully-armed police pointing guns down the hallway towards me screaming and shouting at me to get back in the flat," he said.
