East Hoathly marks Jubilee with Britannia bonfire

A Sussex village has marked the Diamond Jubilee by setting fire to a 30ft wooden sculpture of Britannia.

The icon, which is the personification of Great Britain, was lit at 22:15 BST on Monday in East Hoathly.

It was one of more than 4,000 beacons lit across the Commonwealth as part of the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Queen's reign.
