'Best send-off' for Tommy Ramshaw after level crossing death

The mother of a man killed on a level crossing last month has thanked people for raising thousands of pounds to give him the "best send-off ever".

Tommy Ramshaw, 20, was hit by a train in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex last month.

An online appeal raised almost £3,500 for his funeral.

Mr Ramshaw's mother Jeanette Stanley said she was "overwhelmingly grateful" for the support of local residents.

Protesters have urged Network Rail to reopen a pedestrian subway under the railway but the company says the crossing has "good safety features" and reopening the subway is not a viable option.
