Symphony celebrates Middlesbrough

Football fan turned composer David Golightly has created a symphony for the home town of his favourite team - Middlesbrough.

The Middlesbrough Symphony will be performed by Northern Sinfonia to celebrate the centenary of the Transporter Bridge.

After seeing his first Middlesbrough match at the age of 12, almost 50 years ago, Mr Golightly said the work depicted an optimistic learning journey through life as well as the highs and lows of the "beautiful game".
