River death search locals praised

Police have thanked local people for rallying round during the eight-day search for missing boy Ian Bell.

The eight-year-old went missing after falling into the River Wear, near Crook, in County Durham, on 27 April.

The youngster's body was found on Sunday, not far from where he went missing, and Durham Police thanked local people for helping during the search.
