Funding boost for flood-hit Port Clarence community

It is six months since a clean-up operation began in Teesside after the highest tides the area had seen in 150 years caused devastating floods.

Hundreds of people in Port Clarence were forced to leave their homes because of the damage.

Now the Environment Agency is working on a £9m flood defence scheme for the area and 50 residents and businesses are being helped to apply for government grants.
