Lord Heseltine: 'No gimmicky promises over steel jobs
Lord Heseltine, the man appointed by the government to create new job opportunities for thousands of redundant SSI steelworkers on Teesside, says he will not make any 'short-term gimmicky promises' to workers as they try to find new jobs.
As chairman of the Tees Valley Inward Investment programme Lord Heseltine has been charged with creating and overseeing negotiations with potential investors to maximise investment opportunities on Teesside.
After meeting with members of the SSI Task Force, he warned their was no quick fix for the thousands now looking for new jobs
