Paedophile David Bryant refused to help detectives

Paedophile David Bryant has been sentenced for the kidnap and sexual abuse of four young girls in the North East and south of England in the 1980s and 1990s.

During police interviews he repeatedly refused to answer questions about where he had been and his motives, replying only with "no comment".

He eventually admitted four counts of kidnap and four counts of sexual assault after cold-case detectives used DNA evidence to link him to his crimes, 30 years after he first struck.

The Recorder of Newcastle, Judge James Goss, jailed Bryant for 17 years.
