Compensation claim fraudster David Ribchester jailed

A man has been jailed for eight months after falsely claiming nearly £1m in compensation.

David Ribchester, from Washington, Tyne and Wear, claimed £923,000 from insurers after claiming wrist injuries had stopped him from driving.

He was caught driving and playing rugby by insurance investigators.

The 31-year-old, who previously admitted fraud by false representation, was sentenced at the Old Bailey in London on Thursday.
