Best friend of Claudy bombing's youngest victim on her memories of the day

Alyson Hogg was nine years old when her best friend Katherine Eakin, eight, was killed in the 1972 Claudy bombing.

Here she recalls her memories of what happened on the day - and explains why it has taken her so many years to deal with what took place.

The IRA attack on 31 July 1972 claimed the lives of nine people, and shortly afterwards, it emerged that one of the suspects was parish priest Father James Chesney, who died in 1980.

A report by the Police Ombudsman into how police dealt with their suspicions about Father Chesney's involvement was published on Tuesday.
