Queen: 'We will continue to work together for Northern Ireland'

The Queen has said that the United Kingdom and Irish governments will continue to work together to advance the Northern Ireland peace process.

Speaking at a banquet for the Irish President in Windsor Castle, she said both governments will support the first and deputy first ministers to advance the peace process and to "establish a shared society based on mutual respect and equality of opportunity".

The banquet was in honour of President Michael D Higgins, who was making the first state visit to the UK by an Irish head of state.
