NI welfare reform debate: Ford says Stormont 'in dangerous position'

Northern Ireland Justice Minister David Ford says the Stormont institutions are in a very dangerous position after nationalists killed off the Welfare Reform Bill in the assembly.

While MLAs voted to pass the bill by 58 votes to 39, it fell because Sinn Féin and the SDLP deployed a blocking mechanism called a petition of concern.

The DUP now wants the Westminster government to take back welfare powers, but Sinn Féin said such a move would be unacceptable. BBC NI political correspondent Gareth Gordon reports.
