Chobham Street bonfire: Belfast fire crews work to protect property

Firefighters sprayed foam over houses and businesses close to the site of an Eleventh Night bonfire at Chobham Street, east Belfast, on Monday night.

The aim was to protect the properties from heat damage.

Bonfires are traditionally lit on the night of 11 July in Northern Ireland to mark the anniversary of the 1690 Battle of the Boyne.

Last year, more than 50 householders were moved from their homes due to concerns about the proximity of the Chobham Street bonfire.

Footage of this year's bonfire was taken by Alan Meban/@alaninbelfast.
