Gay marriage row 'storm in a teacup', says Foster

Gay people are welcome in the DUP despite the party's opposition to same-sex marriage, according to its leader Arlene Foster.

She told BBC NI's political editor Mark Devenport: "This suggestion that every single person who's a homosexual wants to change the definition of marriage is actually wrong.

"I know plenty of people in that community who don't want to see marriage redefined and are quite content to live in partnership," she added.

She described the ongoing political row over same-sex marriage in Northern Ireland as "a storm in a teacup"
