Gordon Brown speaks to the BBC about his future plans

Former prime minister Gordon Brown has spoken to the BBC about his plans for the future, his time in Downing Street and the development of Africa.

He told the BBC's Zeinab Badawi that he "wasn't bruised" by losing the election, and that it was the "end of an era" for him.

He also used his first interview since leaving Downing Street to say he wanted to continue as an MP in Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath.

Mr Brown gave his interview while in Kampala, Uganda's capital.
