Tories' 'ambitious' NHS reforms will not be derailed

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley has set out "ambitious" reforms which he claimed would transform the NHS into a "world-class service".

Addressing the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham, Mr Lansley, said the National Health Service was the priority of the coalition government.

Unions have raised concerns in the past week about the overhaul, which will see GPs given control of NHS purse strings.
