Miliband: Government 'cavalier' on economy

The Labour leader, Ed Miliband, has accused the government of being "incredibly cavalier" about cuts in public spending.

Details of the cutbacks will be announced in ten days' time, with most departments asked to find savings of at least 25 per cent.

Mr Miliband warned cutting too fast could increase unemployment and hold back growth.
