Osborne: 'Brave soldiers to get tools they need'

Chancellor George Osborne has confirmed Britain's defence budget will be cut by 8% - but reassured people that the public will still be protected.

He also told the House of Commons that the Foreign Office budget would see savings of 24% through a sharp reduction in the number of Whitehall-based diplomats and back office functions.
