Baroness Thatcher 'drowsy' after night in hospital

Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is "a bit drowsy" after being sedated overnight, according to her son Mark outside the Cromwell Hospital.

She was taken to the west London hospital on Tuesday evening in what has been described as a "routine admission".

But her son was upbeat about her condition, saying she was '"chirpy" and had been asking about the Comprehensive Spending Review and wanted to watch it on television.

He confirmed that Baroness Thatcher will be in hospital for three or four more days, while tests are carried out.
