MP Damian Green: 'Fourteen days should be the norm'

Home Office Minister Damian Green has announced that controversial powers allowing terror suspects to be held without charge for up to 28 days will lapse next Tuesday, returning to a 14-day limit.

The decision followed a review by the government, the full findings of which will be announced next Wednesday.

Responding to a question in the House of Commons, Damian Green said 14 days should be the norm.
