Vince Cable rejects CBI boss' criticisms of coalition

Vince Cable has rejected criticisms of the coalition from the head of CBI, Sir Richard Lambert - who has said the government is failing to explain its vision for the economy.

Sir Richard, who will stand down on Friday, said ministers had taken a series of policy initiatives for political reasons, ignoring the damage that might be done to business and job creation.

The business secretary told the BBC's Nick Robinson that the coalition was working hard to rebalance the economy.
