Journalist Rageh Omaar's view of Egypt crisis

Journalist Rageh Omaar - formerly with the BBC and now with Al Jazeera - is getting ready to head out to Egypt, and claims the people there could turn away from the West.

He reviews the turmoil after a second day of violent clashes between Mubarak supporters and pro-democracy groups, and the increased intimidation of journalists in the country suggests the regime is growing desperate.

He said the Muslim Federation was "not Hamas and not Hezbollah" and gives his take on the events in north Africa, adding: "No amount of secret police can protect you when your people reject you."
