Lord Oakeshott criticises Treasury over Project Merlin

The Liberal Democrats' Treasury spokesman in the House of Lords has stepped down after criticising the Government's lending and bonus deal with the banks.

Lord Oakeshott told the BBC that the Treasury had negotiated a bad deal with banks on lending and bonuses and "couldn't negotiate their way out of a paper bag".
