Lib Dems defeated in Barnsley by-election
The Liberal Democrats have been relegated to sixth place in a parliamentary by-election in Barnsley Central, losing their electoral deposit in the process.
Just nine months ago they came second in the general election.
The by-election in Barnsley Central was caused by the resignation of Eric Illsley, the Labour MP who was jailed for 12 months in February for expenses fraud.
Robin Brant reports.
